Managing Director

Jairam joined ELGI in 1992 as the Deputy Managing Director and took over as Managing Director in 1994. Since then Jay has worked on extending the company's global industry presence through a strategic focus on ELGI's products, business innovation and corporate policies.

In the year 2000, Jay formulated HORIZON 2015 - the company's vision statement. The vision's focus is to establish ELGI as a prominent player internationally by the year 2015. Whenever a potential customer needs a product that is part of our core product line, then one of our products should figure in the shortlist of the customer's options. Under Jay's guidance, ELGI is totally committed to consistently delivering products and services of the highest quality and this philosophy permeates the entire organization.

Previously Jay worked in the United States as a Research Assistant to study Computerized Marketing Simulation as well as researched on Euro-bond Markets. Jay has also conducted detailed research studies on the International Financial Markets, Euro currency Markets, Joint Venture, Corporate Strategy and Technology Transfers in the United States.

Jay holds a Masters degree in Business Administration from George Washington University, USA and in addition received a PhD in International Business from the University of Michigan, USA.

Harjeet Singh Wahan
Managing Director,ATS ELGI

Appointed as an Executive Director in ELGI in 1995, Harjeet has moved to ATS ELGI as Managing Director in 2007 to take the company to the next level of growth.

As Managing Director, he is responsible for the company's vision, strategic direction, and operational management.

After receiving his bachelor's degree in Engineering (Electronics) from Jodhpur University in 1971, Harjeet spent his early years at Jayahind Sciaky Ltd. Pune . 1976 saw him joining KSB Pumps as a Sales Engineer. Harjeet spent the next nineteen years at KSB Pumps in varied roles that provided both depth and breath of experience in manufacturing and sales. Harjeet, as Divisional Head - Coimbatore Plant, was instrumental in setting up and running the Coimbatore plant - which happens to be KSB's most modern plant in India.

Besides his bachelor's degree, Harjeet places importance on education as is evidenced in his Post Graduate Diploma in Business Management from Pune University, his specialization in Finance at IIM Bangalore and Advanced Management courses from IIM Ahmedabad and the University of Michigan.

Harjeet has served in key advisory positions in various prestigious organizations. He is:

A member of CII National Committee for IT users in the industry

A voracious reader, he enjoys reading non- fiction. His spare time hobbies include traveling abroad, watching BBC, Discovery and National Geographic channels.
