Establishment of Elgi Equipments Limited

Collaborates with Pumpenfabrik Uraca Germany to manufacture air compressors

1975

Becomes a public limited company

1983-88

Indigenises the manufacture of rotary screw compressors

1990

Develops rotary screw type vacuum exhausters for the first time in India

Develops high-pressure compressors for warships and other naval applications

Develops compressors for borewells

1997

Receives the ISO 9001 certification

1999

Launches the Horizon series of rotary screw air compressors

Makes the first overseas sale in Thailand

2000

Introduces Six Sigma, TPM and Baan ERP system

Introduces new generation oil free screw air compressors

Launches the Airmate line of downstream accessories

2002

Develops the world's smallest screw air compressor

Becomes a debt-free company

2003

Launches tank-mounted rotary screw compressors

2005

Commences operations to manufacture precision engineered components

Spins off ATS ELGI LIMITED, a wholly-owned subsidiary for manufacturing automotive service equipment

2008

Opens warehouse facility in the Middle-East

2009

Opens warehouse facility in Brazil and Global Support Centre in India

ELGi completes its 50th year

2011

Launches the first indigenously developed oil free screw air compressor

2012

Launches the compact, silent and energy-efficient Encapsulated Series (EN) screw air compressors

Acquires Italy-based Rotair S.P.A and US-based Patton's Inc

Sets up subsidiary in Australia and country office in Thailand

2013

ELGi opens its office in the United States

Starts subsidiary in Indonesia

2014

Starts the Air Center Plant and foundry in Coimbatore

Opens regional office in Malaysia

Launches new models of diesel-powered, skid-mounted portable screw air compressors for drilling applications

2015

Launches new models of oil free reciprocating compressors

Launches high-pressure reciprocating air compressor for PET bottle-making

2017

Conducts global relaunch of products with new brand guidelines

Announces its aspiration to become the world number 2 in the air compressor business

Launches the silent version of the portable screw air compressor and Airalert, a sim-based data transmission services

2018

Acquires F.R. Pulford & Son Pty Limited (Pulford Air and Gas), a Sydney-based distribution company for industrial compressors and air products founded in 1925

2019

Launches AB Series

Opens its new European headquarters in Belgium

To win the prestigious Deming Prize in over 60 years.

Acquires Michigan Air Solutions and expands its presence in the North America
